I wonder if they put a longer rod in the dz302 like they did in the boss 302,how that would change the results. Don't get me wrong,they're both killer little motors.
I'll bet the Chevy 302 ran a factory Holley.....put that HP carb on it.....

Back in the day.....Boss 302's were DOGS! My 1970 Eliminator ran low 15's It took work to get it into the low 14's.....Mustangs weigh less than Cougars but, the Z/28's all ran with little tuning in the low 14's/high 13's. The 71 Boss 351 was the 1st small block Mustang to give a Chevy Z28 a run for its money....my buddy had a 3.91 geared 71 Boss....it was a mid 13second ride.....a 70 Z28 was high 13's at best in stock form.
