I picked up a 5" bore space deal no crank and rods. Block height is 11.310 donovon block. What is the max stroke that could be used? Bore is it at 4.600 now. Thanks!

Is this a used block ? Have the main webbing checked for cracks before you start anything. Those blocks are known for cracking !

To keep a somewhat respectable rod ratio, you can put a 5.375 or 5.500 stroke in that and build a 738 or 748

i was told at about 150 passes and i would find cracks in main webbing,sure enough block needed replacing. thats an expensive maintance item......assuming its a donovan
