Well, just going by my gauge that has the boost and vacuum reading in the same gauge. I would think a tee would be ok. Really don't see a problem with it.

how will the vac gauge like being pegged hard against the stop when under boost?

Some sort of one way valve that keeps boost out and bleeds off the vac would probably be the go, though i just bought a combined boost/vac gauge to avoid any potential issues and free up one hole in the dashboard.
