What kind of rear gears are the F2 guys here running? I've noticed that a lot of guys with the blowers are running very tall (3.55) gears to get down the 1/4.

I'm looking at an F2 SBC (~12-1400 HP) and am thinking my 4.88's are WAAAAAYYYY too much.

If you are running a 40" tall tire, you should be in good shape.:) Most of the guys I know are running 3.70, 3.89, or 4.10. That's with a PG.

Its so we can get THRU the 1/4 not down the 1/4 without zinging the motor to the moon. Its all in the MPH. I run a 3.89 and will still need to take more gear out when I turn up the boost (thats with a 31" tall tire). I don't know what the hell the drag radial guys are running for gears cause I haven't seen lower than 3.70 ratio in a Pro gear. With those short tires and big MPH they need some really low 3.xx or high 2.xx ratios.

I think its Richmond, but there is a 3.40 pro gear for the 9" out there. For the 8.8 guys like me, we stick with the street gears and pray.
