It did that to me also..takes some figuring out (but it plays whole songs..type one in)

try pandora.com same concept, type your band in, it'll play a few from them. and it will play other bands that are similar in style. plus if you dont like the next song they play you can skip ahead to another. you'll find alot of bands that you never heard of . i love it.
