What is the biggest wheel you can fit under a stock length 8.8 stock. Stock suspension. Stock everything. I am gonna roll the lip or maybe even cut it. I was told 15 by 10 with a 6.5 backspacing, but alumastar only has 15 by 10 with 4.00, 5.00, 6.00, 7.00. would i be better off with a 8, 8.25, 9, 9.25? I want to fit a 28-9 slick and or a 275-60-15 DR.

Friend of mine has a 15 by 10 with 5.50 back spacing and he said that he fits a 28-10 slick with no problems

Stock width with drums, 15x10 with a 6.5" backspace. 5.5" will stick out a bit.

I agree with the above,but also have wondered if a 15x12 with 7.5"bs would also work.It wouldn't affect where the tire tread is,but would push the sidewalls out a bit.Might be good when using a 10.5w.

but the thing is that weld alumastar ONLY come in even number unlike welds example 15 by 8 with a 5.5 back spacing.
the alumastar backspacing is 3.00,4.00,5.00,6.00

Depends on the ride height also. Lowered cars with the tire/wheel tucked up in seem to work best with the 15x8 5.5 backspace.

15 x10 will work with 6.0 bs 28x9 tire with no problems have exactly that on one car and 15 x10 6.5 bs with 28 10.5 will rub a little you would have to massage inside just a touch if you put 28x9 tire it won't rub with either rim.

I just bought a new 8.8 with c clip elim on it.And for some reason it appears to be about a 1/2 in wider on each end than my stock rear...is that right? Right now I have a 15x8 with 5.5 backspace....I have my fender lips cut right now...think it will fit? Or am I gonna have to get a 6.5 bs?
