Talked to a nice guy today and we struck up a conversation about street rods & race cars. He is building a Pro Street early ford street rod. He said he wants to build the largest cubic inch engine possible, yet it has to be a wet engine because he plans to use it regularly on the street.

So how big a wet engine can you build?

I saw a Reher 864" wet motor the other day....sitting in Johnny Pilcher's shop. Belongs to a customer of theirs.

Well from what I gathered he was thinking in the neighborhood of 700 inches to keep with the Pro theme (& sound), so from what I can tell by what's posted here is he should be able to do that and have it somewhat reliable as well.
