where you thinking of making power? both those heads will need big gearing and very loose convertors and rpms in the 8000rpm to make great power..

on a all out n.o.s app use the head hunters.. did a 565 with a set running a sv565 intake and a 1450 quickfuel. 14 to 1 .900 lift cam made killer power..

Not near enough information about the entire combination and usage was given by the OP to make a well thought out decision.

If he is looking to spin it to 8500 RPM and spray a 600 shot on top of it, probably not.

OK...for 99% of the racing community they're both too big. For just about anything other than what you're describing, they're both too big.
IMO.

Its possible to make 1100 horsepower with the headhunters and still shoot the hell out of it. I don't know anything about the darts.

never dyno'ed that engine but with a steve j fogger set at 300hp ish we went 7.80's in a 3150# car on 29.5x10.5w's . remember in a winning drag engine rpm's are you friend.. the engine making peak power around 7000rpm lose why to much on shift. i look for % of power lost on shift recovery. my old 565 made only [email protected] 8200 but never made less then 980 over the 1400rpms lost on shift. the brother old 555 made [email protected] 7000 rpms but lost 100hp over the 1400rpm on shift... as you can see the 565 will leave the 555 do to better avg hp over the shift recovery.. most low rpm engines will loose a bigger % of hp on shift recovery...
