Discussion Starter #1
My alternator wire goes from the alternator to the starter solenoid. Everything is under the hood of the 98 Mustang.
The battery is in trunk and I have a battery shut of switch installed. The switch was installed incorrectly. To fix the problem the alternator wire was unbolted to the starter solenoid terminal and needs to go another 14 ft to the rear battery area.
Whats the best solution here?
1.)Should I add a fuse where the alternator wire was originally connected to the starter solenoid and then just add anther 14 ft of wire off the fuse?
2.)Should the original alternator line be removed and a solid line go all the way to the shut of switch?
3.) Can another line be bolted to the current line and run to the rear switch?
Looking for the correct fix?

thanks
