Taken from another site. Sorry if repost.

The best engine in the world is the vagina. It can be started with one finger. It is self-lubricating. It takes any size piston. And it changes its own oil every four weeks. It is only a pity that the management system is so temperamental

If you bypass the management system with liberal amounts of alcohol, you can expect superior performance in most cases.

Be careful with the alcohol, too much or too often can cause the wrong pistons to end up in the engine!!

If you have a concern with that happening you may want to look at a rent/lease program instead of owning!!

Also be careful with some of the lower budget rental/lease programs as they have been known to have additives in them that can cause serious damage to the pistons.

One must be VERY cautious when boring these engines. Protective coatings should be used. Failure to do so may result in irreversible side-effects

They do make "after-bore" test equipment to ensure "unplanned results" have not occurred.

It is advised that if one of these engines is in its "prime", it is best to remove the piston prior to "internal combustion" due to high RPM use when a protective coating is not used.

Depending on the management of these engines, sometimes the piston can also be used as an exhaust valve, but again...that depends on the management. Results may very depending on cubic inches as well as piston size, and exhaust port design. Use caution when testing for fitment, as severe damage may occur, and as a result, management may prevent you from leasing the engine for quite some time.

Is there any advantage to using synthetic oils in these engines? I want to keep wear down to a minimum and keep from sending it to the shop to have the bore resleeved.
