accord/civic/acura/camry...they do very well around here under 4k and still move rather easily under 8k. Just depends on your area.

The ones that fall in my lap, usually they don't run and I have to two tow them home. I always get them by word of mouth, I never have bought any out the paper or craigs list. I go though them, get them running, fix all the little things and usually some will buy them by word of mouth. I'll tell you these days its hard to find good cars or trucks to buy and sell.

Escorts, particularly the zx2 models. Picked 2 of em up for under 300 each. One needed a timing belt, the other a set of rear springs. Easy 1500-1800 cars around here.

whatever has a good resale value & you have to put little money into.

There are no specific cars. it is all about what you buy it for , what you put into it & what it can sell for.
You can get a '85 caprice for $100 & put $500 into it & sell it for $2000
Or you can get a 95 civic for $800 put $400 into it & not be able to sell it for $1200.

These are just numbers off the top of my head. Just giving examples.

It all comes down to what you can get it for & what you can sell it for. Just remember one thing. If you sell to many cars in one year(that you put into your name) the DMV may make you have to get a used car dealer license. Back in the 90's NJ was going to make me do this because I sold more than 5 cars a year.

I just sold my fathers 97 Camry with 350k on the clock to some gypsy type dude from New Port Richy for 1900 bucks. In summer, anything with AC and the rest of the year its all about gas mileage. Cars have advantage in cities though especially where snow is not a issue.

It is anything more then three cars in Florida, the Pawn Shop I part-time in here in Miami has a Dealers license and I had to take the 2 day course to get on the certificate. Even Pawn Shops are not exempt from the 3 car rule but Government agencies are that sell thier fleets. I have a nice 2001 Merc. CLK430 vert that I will sell for $8500.00 but it has moon miles (170,000)

3....damn. That sucks.

I only had to deal with 5 cars the 4 years I lived there(my personal cars, nothing I flipped). Was just worn out from injuries & all the f***ing hurricanes kept me fixing the house.

Used to fly in and out of Panama when I flew for DHL. To this day the best hotel I have ever stayed at was the Intercontinental there and to this day one of the most dangerous places I have ever been at night was venturing away from the hotel 5 or 10 blocks going toward town and the canal! Dave

Intercontinental is 2 minutes from where I live. When was the last time you were here? There are some wicked hotels that just went up over the last few years. They also completely redid Balboa avenue. It is about 8 lanes now, bridges, social areas to play basketball, ride bikes, etc.

LOL....yeah, you are lucky you made it out without injury. El Chorrillo area is one of the worst. It is funny when Taxi drivers from there. Lock their doors going through. I have been there a few times. Cops thought I was crazy. I was telling them. Pretty much where I grew up in NJ was about equal, so I am used to it. If you act scared they will definitely get you.
