Anyones thoughts on optimum bore/stroke, deck height , rod length and piston comp. height for a blown 360-365" SBF?... limited to hi-ports and a small race cntr. blower(vortech Xi-trim)..leaning toward 8.7 deck height...any suggestions and why?

Yeah yesterday........Give me a ring when you can!

Oh & I have had real good luck with the 8.7 stuff, 3.50(or a 3.450) stroke/5.700 rods / 4.100-125 bore.
Of course Junior's 8.2 deck motor is baad mother also-Probably the fastest out there w/F2..........But I think its just a "freak of nature":-D:-D

the 8.7 stuff has came up a few times now...I've been told that the rod ratio will be spot-on with an 8.7 @ 360-365"

Assuming both ran 3.45 stroke with a 1.09 pin height the rod ratio on 8.7 would be 1.71 vs 1.56 for 8.2 deck..... I would use a deeper piston if i had an 8.7 meaning the ratio would be about the same doing this. The 8.2 still has lighter internals and the intake has shorter/more straight runners.
If I was to run an 8.2 use 2.75 mains with 1/2 inch studs all 4 bolt caps.
