Update on Benny Alfonso.
During the Shakedown at E-Town Race in October at Englishtown, NJ ; Benny Alfonso had a horrific crash. Suffering severe back injuries, he needed back surgery and then spent time in a rehabilitation center. Once home, he was confined to a wheel chair as you can see from the interview (Below). The injury was painful, and very hard to deal with mentally. “Your mind plays tricks on you,” said Benny . “But you can’t let it get you down.”
Well, it has been less than two months since that interview and Benny is doing extremely well. To be honest, he is much better expected. He is out of the wheelchair, walking, driving, going to the gym! Anyone who knows Benny , knows how he loves the gym… He is well on his way to a full recovery.
It is going to be great to have Benny back to himself for 2011. He wants everyone at the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association to know, "he will see everyone at the banquet". Benny also wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes during this difficult time. All the emails and phone calls he received helped to keep his spirits up when he really needed to.
Benny still has a long road ahead, but things are looking good.
