I currently have 1.7 thou clearance on my rod bearings would like a bit more
Currently i have cb663hn 10
If i change half over to cb663hn9 will this be enough diff in weight to throw out the balance of the bottom end?
Thanks in advance benno

It's a non-issue, don't even need to even think about it, well less than a gram for all 8 bearings combined.

A nickel(5 cent piece) weighs 5 grams, for comparison.....so you can see that .001" thickness off 8 bearing faces is a tiny amount.

You could go from standard bearings to .030" undersize bearings and still not make enough of a difference to warrant a rebalance.

Changing the rod bearings won't affect the engine balance. Just not enough difference in weight of the shells to make any difference in the bob-weights.

Thanks guys
When using half shells can i buy 4 of each bearing and use them like that
Or does everyone have to be the same config as in using thicker one as upper on every rod? Or can it be half and half ?

Yes you can just by four and do like you are thinking. Some people will tell you to put all of the thicker shells on the beam side only but let's be real here, we're talking about a half a thousandth.

I bought a couple bearings and split the halves among a few rods.
