we have a set here for a customers car with mickey thompsons on them... when i put the tires on, they had some play around the inner part of the bead lock rings... they dont hold air for shit.. i can put 20 psi in them right now and they will be back down to 5-6 psi in less then a day... they are alumastars.. i would never buy a set myself from weld, i would get regular alumastars and send them out to sheppards/champion/redd's to get bead locks put on... we have used redd's and champion and the tire fit in the lock alot tighter and the tires hold air much better then these...

Toyo is currently the only drag tire maker that conforms to the wheel and tire industry standards as far as bead bundle size. Most of the other tire makers are constructing bead bundles that are undersize. Our beadlock was originally designed to meet wheel and tire industry standards, but as the bead bundles shrunk we built a new ring to provide more clamping and to correct air leakage. We have offered both rings as an option when ordering, we have replaced many rings for customers who got the wrong stuff initially, and after testing the tires available today, have decided we will probably offer the shorter ring as standard equipment. If you have further questions call Weld/American Motorsports at 1-800-788-9353.

Topless, why don't you call Weld Motorsports at 1-800-788-9353 and let's see what we can work out. We wouldn't stay in business too long if we didn't want satisfied customers. Couple of questions, we have dealers that stock this stuff, did you order a special combo that no one stocked? Just wondered why you waited, did you try and return them to us for repair/replacment when you started having problems (not even sure what the problem is, at this point), why did you pay Shepard (twice?) to "fix" them and what did they do? Did they cut the Weld beadlocks off and weld their own on?

jjordan, Do you work for weld? Can you tell me why earlier this year they wouldn't exchange my rings and made me pay 800.00 for a new set? Same deal, brand new double locked Mag. I put the M/T on and they wouldn,t hold air , called Weld and they said we now make another ring but it will cost you 800.00. If they are now exchaging the rings I sure would like to talk to someone about getting my money back.
