Has anyone machined the lifter bores shorter on a Gen v block. Guy wants to use his mk iv solid roller cam and lifters but the link bar is hitting the top of the bores before the roller touches the base circle.

You really don't have to lose much lifter bore height to make the lifters work. You can machine a chamfer on the top edge of the lifter boss at a 45 to make the tiebar clear without losing really any lifter bore.
