I'm about to get my pinto back on the road, looking for a battery small in size that is still going to allow me to operate headlights when needed. The car is only a 2.3L so I dont need much in the way of CCA. I've had an optima in the past and will not be a return customer. Would prefer made in U.S.A.

I've been using an Odyssey PC680 for a long time. It's pretty small at 15lbs, and has plenty of power to crank over my 15-1 compression 2.3 litre VW. You'd need to run an alternator to run headlights, I think.

The next size up is the PC 925 at 25 lbs.

There are a bunch of batteries in that size range available these days. The price/life ratio on the Odyssey is excellent
