okay, i need some help on a baseline tune on a sbc.
it is a 355, Brodix IK200 heads, 9.75 to 1 compression, Comp Extreme Energy Cam 230/236 @.050 510/520 lift, Victor Jr intake, 650 hp holley carb, 1 3/4 hooker headers, MSD pro billet distibutor and 6al. What should base and total timing be and what jets should i start with. It is in an 85 Monte Carlo 3500lbs, turbo 400, 3000 stall and 3.73 gears.

You never really know what it's going to like, but 30-32 should be a good start and go from there to see how much you can get away with. You might end up with 34 or so when you see how it likes pump gas, thats all you can do....

I had a similar combination with a 355 sbc with sportman II heads 200 cc runner with 2.050 intake valve, com cam 555/555 lift cam, 2975 vic jr. intake, 650 demon, 1 3/4 hooker heads, mallory unilite distibutor with 6-AL msd ignition box. It ran great with a base timming of 35 degrees
