(August 2nd) - Saturday Night Street Car Shootout brought to you by Cecil County Dragway and Finishline Performance

The Drag Radial class is brought to you will special thanks from the following sponsors: DRA Commercial Handyman Service, PM Construction, Bigtime Automotive, Corupt Motorsports, Ellas Automotive

Qualifying Round 1

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

Eddie Himmighoefer - 0.241 5.67 @ 125
Ben Byrd - 2.020 5.39 @ 141

Himmighoefer seems to be giving the radial class a shot but down in the powerplant department. Byrd comes back out after missing a few races and makes a strong pass in his RX7

Chris Little - @
Scott Bitzer - 0.247 5.76 @ 135

Little broke and had to be pushed back. Bitzer was peddling the car all the way down the track

Chris Douglas - 0.518 6.4 @ 119
Richie Stine - 0.218 5.15 @ 143

Douglas is a first timer here in drag radial in his beautiful blue Mustang but is well off the mark. Stine mades a nice pass but is still off his usual 4.90 range.

Rich Bach - 5.41 @ 139
Chris Evans - 5.40 @ 133

Bach and Evans were side by side. Bach was a little off his normal mark and Evans continues to work out his traction issues and creep up on his setup.

Sal Patel - ,044 5.17 @ 144
Jesse Lambert - 0.082 5.93 @ 103

Patel makes a nice run in his V10 Viper put him number two for the session and Lambert lifted the wheels and moved towards the wall and had to lift.

Paul Major - 0.079 5.74 @ 147

Major's woes continue with his traction problems as he spins off the line yet again.

Alex Vrettos - 0.314 5.90 @ 127

Vrettos left soft and as he broughtin the boost he spun and had to peddle.

Qualifying Round 2

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

Ben Byrd - 4.15 6.81 @ 120
Sal Patel - 0.056 5.03 @ 145

How about Patel who goes straight to number one with a personal best in the Viper. Its early in qualifying and could get bumped but still a great pass for him. Byrd had problems off the line.

Chris Crown - 0.076 5.45 @ 145
Eddie Himmighoefer - 0.28 5.67 @ 125

Crown showed up late and had one shot at qualifying and he goes to number six so far. Himmighoefer does improve but not good enough to make it in the field.

Scott Bitzer - 0.342 5.2 @ 143
Chris Douglas - Deep n/t @

Bitzer makes a good pass to move to number three so far. Douglas went deep so he will not get an ET

Richie Stine - 0.15 6.92 @ 70
Chris Little - 0.088 5.37 @ 143

Stine was on a good pass but the car shut off around 330 feet. Little had a pretty good run and moves up a few spots.

Jesse Lambert - 0.115 5.13 @ 144
Tony Parsons - 0.63 7.83 @ 86

Lambert had a pretty pass carrying the front wheels and set the front end down and put him in the field. Parsons car has had ignition problems and had a nice nitrous backfire through the hood in the silver mustang.

Alex Vrettos - 0.481 4.98 @ 153

Well…Vrettos showed why he is one of the baddest cars out there and bumps Patel out of the number one spot and is the first car in the 4.90s today.

Chris Evans - 0.114 5.42 @ 134
Rich Bach - 0.128 5.38 @ 133

Evans carried the front end way out there and does not improve on his 5.41 pass and Bach makes another 5.30's pass.

Paul Major - 0.319 5.26 @ 148

Major finally pulled enough power out of the car to get it off the starting line and move him way up in the field.

Final Qualifying Order

1 Alex Vrettos 95 Mustang 4.98 @ 153
2 Sal Patel 99 Viper 5.03 @ 145
3 Jesse Lambert 95 Camaro 5.13 @ 144
4 Richie Stine 02 Camaro 5.15 @ 143
5 Scott Bitzer 81 Malibu 5.2 @ 144
6 Paul Major 01 Corvette 5.26 @ 148

Round 1 Eliminations

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

(W)Jesse Lambert - 0.105 5.10 @ 144
(L) Eddie Himmighoefer - 0.178 5.63 @ 126

Strong run by Lambert who continues to go faster and faster every pass. Himmighoefer was certainly at a disadvantage and Lambert took advantage

(L) Chris Douglas - 0.399 6.64 @ 115
(W) Sal Patel - 0.065 5.62 @ 135

Patel has been on all day but he gets crossed up and does a nice job on recovering and driving it on out for the win.

(L) Chris Crown - n/t @
(W) Richie Stine - 0.882 5.09 @ 143

Well Crown who showed up late and made it in the field on the second qualifier fouls his day away as he rolls through the lights giving the win to Stine

(L) Chris Little - 0.030 5.07 @ 149
(W) Rich Bach - 0.110 5.31 @ 134

Bach had a better 60 foot than Little but the single turbo Mustang brought in the boost and just drove past the nitrous small block for the win.

(W) Paul Major - 0.005 5.08 @ 148
(L) Ben Byrd - 0.394 5.70 @ 141

No contest as the pair of turbo cars squared off. Major was deadly on the tree and the car is coming around nicely.

Scott Bitzer - 0.164 5.10 @ 144

Bitzer gets the solo run as he gets the single due to breakage and makes a nice run as he is working out the new motor in his cool lookin Malibu

(W) Alex Vrettos - 0.109 5.32 @ 133
(L) Tony Parsons - 0.189 7.13 @ 106

Parson's problems continued and Vrettos carried the front end and set it down but had to peddle but had no problem ending Parsons day.

Round 2 Eliminations

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

(W) Scott Bitzer - 0.122 5.04 @ 145
(L) Richie Stine - 0.085 5.08 @ 144

Big upset as Stine goes out. Good side by side race as Stine left first but Bitzer drove around him!

(L) Chris Little - 0.081 5.09 @ 149
(W) Sal Patel - 0.042 5.08 @ 142

How about Patel! Close drag race. Patel left first and holds off Little as it appeared Little was going to drive around Patel but he holds him off and goes on to the next round.

(W) Paul Major - 0.094 4.97 @ 153
(L) Jesse Lambert - 0.042 5.7 @ 125

Well I thought this would be a closer race but it was no contest and Major just muscled his way down the track to his first 4.90's pass of the year as the team has finally figured out their setup on the wild Corvette

Alex Vrettos - n/t @

Vrettos has the bye so he just took the tree and backed out.

Semi - Finals

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

(W) Paul Major - 0.04 5.15 @ 152
(L) Sal Patel - -0.009 5.14 @ 141

Patel was first to the stripe but fouls it away by 9 thousandths…would have been a good drag race but Major is going to his first final this year but still worth giving Patel credit for an excellent outing here tonight.

(L) Scott Bitzer - 0.463 9.42 @ 54
(W) Alex Vrettos - 0.132 5.38 @ 129

Vrettos had troubles earlier after hurting something but it appears he got it fixed. Bitzer had problems after he launched and Vrettos let off and coasted for the win. Major will have lane choice in the finals.

Finals

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

Paul Major - 0.086 5.50 @ 122
Alex Vrettos - 0.114 5.31 @ 142

Well it wasn't pretty but Vrettos and Team Corupt were able to fix the car and take the win against Paul Major. Both cars started to carry the wheels and Major had to peddle the car and Vrettos was able to get a reigns on the car first and drove by Major for the win. Congrats to Corupt Motorsports for their second win this year.
