Here's 24 pictures of the 175 I took today, getting a new camera so I can get the cars at night when ADRL rolls into town in Maryland so I can capture the candles lit!

Going to bed now since i'm going to the RAM race tomorrow in Maple Grove. Let me know what you guys think of these photo's. I'll be bringing my mac down to ADRL to post in the hotel with my new camera!

Very nice shots. What camera? I'm trying to put back bucks for a new Nikon D300 right now. John Fore III got one and at 2400 ISO he was doing night shots at South Ga. with NO flash, and they turned out great. I use a D-70s now with a D50 as backup.
By the way, those are some good shots from the stands. Sometimes it's good to get off the wall to get a different perspective.

Thanks for ADRL i'm going to try and get on the wall even though i'm 17 and will be 18 in October but here's the new camera i'm getting. I like it and it has burst mode and everything I needed. I was thinking about getting the Nikon CoolpixD80 but i'm going to go with this. What one do you think is better?

Sony Cybershot 299.99

or

Canon CoolpixD80 399.99 but I found website that are 100 dollars cheaper and they both work for Macs.

that little nikon is pretty nice. you dont need a big high dollar camera to shoot nice pics.out of the 2 you named id go with the nikon.

Yeah I remember seeing you at Cecil last weekend I was up on the fence taking pictures.
Tim can you do me a favor and see what camera would take better high speed pics of the cars at night? I'll be back online in the morning before I leave for Maple Grove. Thanks! If you can't its no big deal.

iam thinking the nikon will. i really dont like shooting pics at night cause i cant seem to get'em to turn out the way i like.
Anyone else?
Thanks Gary but what camera is better?
Well i'm ordering the Nikon I guess tonight! Have it in my hand before ADRL!
Hey, great photos, thanks for sharing!

As for camera.. that Nikon you linked looks like a good start, but realize that night time panning shots are pretty much impossible from the stands without a (very) well lit track. I have 3 flashes and stand on the wall, even then it's tricky. So, don't get your hopes up. Daytime however, from the stands, you should be good to go at a reasonable ISO with that camera. Go out with lots of room on your memory cards and practice, practice, practice to find out the best combo.
