looking to pick up power (about 150RWHP) for next season.
So this past season we have been best of a 1.24 60' (no power managment) 5.55 ET and 129 MPH ( not the same pass) car is 3300 lbs on 275's
F1R 5.0:1, 1.88 step up in the geardrive, shifting at 7400

motor set up is a 331 CID, 8.2 SBF 9.2:1 compression, solid roller 268/272 .668/.668 114LS

heads are ported TFS TW 2.02/1.60.. flow 310/220 at .600
intake is Vict Jr ported and polished to and 1262
90mm TB w/elbow.

Accoarding to the Wallace Calculator its making about 1040RWHP now...to go 137-138 I need to make ~1200RWHP

Can the gains I need be made by going to say a TEA 225 HP? I am concerned about the 4.030 bore being to small to do a 245cc and when I spoke to TEA, they tended to agree it would work better with a 4.125 bore, so they recommended to stay with the 225 and 2.08 valve.

My question is, is this still enough head yet to do the number I want?
I see Ed Thomas getting it done with a 225HP...but does my little knife have a chance at a bringing a 5.0X-5.1X to the gunfight?

I think you are asking a lot out of that small bore.We have done 1100s a couple of times with 4.030 and 4.060 bore with 2.100 intake valves in dart 230 head and pro action 230 head.We had alot more cam area than you >dur.and lift and we spun engine harder also.

We did 1180s on one engine and put some nitrous in it and i think air temp reduction did as much for it as nitrous amount .From the numbers it ran with nitrous it must have been making 1270hp area.I dont know if nitrous is a option for you but it brings a procharger to life....

no not an option at all, we see 56 at the hit and 80 at the stripe pretty regular with the A2W.

Thanks. My fear is the heads are probably goning to be dead past the lift I have now, but would a different cam profile be recoomended with the 225?

change intake to super vic.( ported). raise shift to 8 k rpm/ loosen the convertor. get a new cam. there could be 35-55 in a different grind maybe more. loose is fast. may want to test a higher gear ratio if cam/intake pick up a fair amount. test-test-test- my lowly opin.
