I figured there's gotta be someone on here who works as a civilian on your local base. Been trying to find a listing of job openings, but havnt been able to locate anything.
Any specific place to look? I've checked the bases actual site, but nothing that I can find. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, if you do work...what do you do, and how do you like it?

Thanks in advance!

I work at Ft. Knox. I'm a Training Tech. I love it. http://cpol.army.mil/ . You can do your resume there on Resumix. You can check any place in CA. Good Luck.

There aren't many govies who do fab work. Your best bet will be getting on with a Gov't contractor who does that for the Army/Navy.

That being said, Civil Service is the most cake job on earth. It pays good, is extremely secure, and there is ALOT of room for advancement once you're in the door. That last part is critical, because its a MOTHERFUCKER to get on with the government.

Maybe not a lot of fab work to do but the fab experience can get ya in the door. IE, sheetmetal mechanic or something along those lines. That is more of a possibility if the base you are looking into does depot level maintenance. Unless you are willing to relocate. I'm thinking there are only like 4 of those bases in the country. I don't know that part, just seems like I have heard that at work before.

Prior service will help you a lot. If you have some make sure they know it.
