Who thinks its time to remove our manufacturing from China? China is becoming far to powerful. There are other locations that have a low cost of labor that could support this if companies are hesitant to relocate to the US. It will probably take years to accomplish this, but it’s time to start. We also need to maintain an Administration capable of dealing with them in our best interest.

sadly the American shopper 99 times out of 100 shops by price. If the made in China $3 tee shirt that will be a POS after 10 washes is right next to the made in USA $7 tee shirt that will last for 2 years, they will buy the $3 China shirt. That is the reason Walmart is thriving. How can an American manufacturing company survive the shopper that shops by price ?

Common sense was sold out for profit.
We wouldnt want china making our war machines ,tanks, rifles, other weapons ,especially electronic weapons /hardware.

Why would we let them make our raw materials for pharmaceuticals?

Greed ...pure greed.

Some things should not be offshored

X2.....two of the blood pressure meds I've been on were recalled because of cancer causing chemicals in them because of Chinese corner cutting......anyone else remember them using melamine in dog food to cheat the protein test resulting in dogs across the country dying of kidney failure.....Fuck them , enough is enough....... Now they've sent a black swan around the world.

You (and others) keep spouting this nonsense over and over...but offer no proof.

While shoppers are used to seeing various imported items—like Nike shoes—in stores across the country, the United States remains a relatively closed economy. In fact, the vast majority of goods and services sold here are produced domestically. Even in categories with high levels of imported goods, most expenditures are on domestic goods.

Going back to the 1980's the discussion in the boardrooms of big corporations was that America was slowing down it terms of growth potential. So they set their sights on two countries with great growth potential. China and Brazil. So the move overseas was not just lower costs of production.

It would be helpful if people would show up when they are supposed to and put in a full days work.
So much truth, many don't remember the union bull shit in the mid century. Strikes all the time, workers fucking off because they could, too much union misconduct was a major reason corporations looked elsewhere.

Cuomo was bitchin' the other day as to why we are not making masks and ventilators. He went on and on about how this could have happened.

What he needs to do is go read his democRAT handbook and he would see that Bill Clinton signed the NAFTA into law.
