Just got a new laptop that's running Vista 64-bit. My last laptop had XP Pro and I was using Zone Alarm security suite and System Mechanic for cleanup. Neither of these work on 64-bit. What do y'all recommend for anti-spyware/anti-virus, maintenance and firewall? I've read Vista's firewall is pretty damn good though, is this true?

I bought Vista Home Premium 64 bit and the shit wouldn't even install. Tried for 5 hours and nothing, so for the hell of it I tried XP Home. XP installed 1st try and runs perfect. What a waste of fucking money.

This is on a new Intel motherboard and Quad core processor.

Try Windows Live OneCare. I have it on 6 computers and so far its been excellent. It does automatic backups of all the computers to external hard drives as well. Seems very integrated but I do run Vista on 1 machine and XP on the rest. You can get a free trail download. $60 for 1 year for three machines, I believe.

I'm really happy with it so far. Vista is much more pleasing to the eye than XP. I have the option to switch it over to 32-bit but I'll need to start over so I'm going to wait a couple weeks to add games, files, etc.... I'd like to stick with 64-bit though which is why I'm trying to find out what works and what doesn't.
