Complete original Hemis are worth a few bucks, but 38K for the wrong carbs, distributor, fan clutch, missing alternator and who knows what else is wrong is a bit much.

Unless he finds lighting in a bottle and someone owns the car that engine came from.
Even so,...what is a 68 Super Bee worth all done and nicely restored? Does that value warrant spending 38k on an engine?

Kinda depends. I know it's a long shot but if someone has the car already in great shape but has a different motor then the Original Hemi could add quite a bit. Probably not the full $38 but people do dumb things with money all the time.

38k is a bit steep but not completely out of line. Yes we all know what 38k can build or buy in modern parts but for the guy doing a top shelf resto of a late 60s early 70s Hemi equipped Mopar only the real deal will do. With that being said 30k is a realistic number.

I don't know Mopar values very well. Is an original 68 Hemi Super Bee, restored nicely, worth that much when done to warrant someone paying 38k for that engine and trans? Were there many made, or is that combo rare?

With the current financial climate in this world right now.....probably not
