Call GRP and ask them. Each rod manufacturer is different. there is a rule of thumb, but it's always best to ask the people who make the rods.

I've ran both GRP and MGP's at zero.

My bracket engine is at -.005.
That is twice you've mentioned "zero" and posted a link to that article?!?

If you mean zero deck, that is no help without knowing total distance.

We run .005 more room for the aluminum between steel and aluminum.....
that is the number it takes to let the piston just touch the head at the finish line on both type of rods
5.1 bore at 10200 RPM

Interesting thread and timely. I was going to cite the Dragzine Article, but Chad has provided that already. But I have a related question; if I have GRP aluminum rods that are .012 in the hole, and a billet crank, will a .036 head gasket be too tight (quench) if the engine sees 9000 rpm at the stripe?
