what is the general expansion of a GRP aluminum rods is it .010 or what ?

Call GRP and ask them. Each rod manufacturer is different. there is a rule of thumb, but it's always best to ask the people who make the rods.

That is twice you've mentioned "zero" and posted a link to that article?!?

If you mean zero deck, that is no help without knowing total distance.

One was 3.00, one was 3.250, one was 3.750

Anywhere from 9200-10200.

My bracket engine is -.005 with a .041 gasket.

The 3.750 was my 4 cylinder with a .041 MLS.

I run .055 piston to deck with .008 piston clearance. That's 8700 rpm with 1.56 rod ratio piston doesn't touch the head. I've used both GRP and MGP rods in same combo

I would think piston clearance would affect how close you can run the quench and bore dia

Interesting thread and timely. I was going to cite the Dragzine Article, but Chad has provided that already. But I have a related question; if I have GRP aluminum rods that are .012 in the hole, and a billet crank, will a .036 head gasket be too tight (quench) if the engine sees 9000 rpm at the stripe?
