The packing is a commercial grade insulation that I have acces to. It is a much better material than what muffler companies are using do to the cost of it.


Silicate type Insulation 98% pure textile grade silica fiber
It is non-respirable, incombustible, asbestos free
Maximum continuous temperature – 1800*F

I does not look like perforated tubing. Looks like mesh.

We made my aluminum mufflers for my aluminum exhaust. We could not find perforated pipe any where. So we had to make our own. Even done on a machine it was not fun. haha Turned out great when done at least.

LOL, I tried the perf. no thanx. It is a Stainless Steel mesh

Did you have to debur them too??
No. There was nothing major hanging around. We thought we might have to hone the inside and sand the outside. But we didn't even touch them. Assembled as they were. This pic you can kind of see some of the bur left on a few holes.
