have a nine inch rearend currently with a steel nodular center section. this thing is heavier than hell. my question is how much lighter is the aluminum one compared to the steel one? plus can the aluminum handle 3000hp and have a 3.4 or 3.5 gear?

anywhere from 18 to 20lbs lighter depending on the case that you go with. With 3000HP the only case that I would consider running is a Strange Ultra Case, but then again I would think that 3000HP is too much for any 9" case, even nodular iron.

With 3000hp I would recomend something in a 9.5 gear floater setup, most likely from Mark Williams.
