I have a fairly large air to air intercooler now. I'm just wondering, is it really worth anything at the track.
I do alot of street driving on pump gas but just putt around.
I run race gas at the track though.
I would like to run without one, less weight,shorter piping,ect..
SBF w/ 76mm, Big Stuff 3, runs 5.90's at 125.

Any body have a comparison ?

If you call AIS and tell him your wants, needs and use of the car I am sure he will tell you they dont do much. I assume its on the mustang you have in your avatar?

If so I am sure you noticed not much surface area is exposed allowing the I/C to do its job. I build my old setup with one and my new one also but if I had to do it again I think I would just stick with meth injection.

I just looked at the logs from some of my runs, my air temps are in the 120 to 140 deg. range.
How much higher do you think the would be without the intercooler ?

Honestly I couldnt tell you it would depend on how long everything has been running, outside temp ect..ect.. I would expect meth to drop you down to no more then 80 with out the IC

My AlkyControl meth injection was good for a 50 degree drop in intake temperature. SBC w/F2 Procharger at 22lbs.
