that kind of depends. if you want a place to crash, get something up in "North Las Vegas". there are plenty of nice small hotels up there that will work fine. Im sure Mel has the "official hotel" listed on the web site.

if you want shows/casino's/food, stay "on the strip". there is LOTS going on there. you have to know what you want to do, before someone can suggest where to go.

IMO the strip is cool & so is Fremont street.

I would just use travelocity or hotels.com or any of the other hotel web sites.

We stay at the Cannery on Craig Road. It's only a few minutes from the track and is a full service casino/hotel. Downtown is 15 min or so from downtown, so no matter where you stay it's not bad. Rates vary depending upon the day of the week at most all the places.

The Cannery like Mike said is a good place. Close to the track yet getting into town is easy too.

You do know they dont stock Holden parts lol ! Ill be there too from the 7th at Pomona for a couple then off to Vgas from the 11th for a week , depends if you want to enjoy the casinos or close to the track , the end of the strip down near MGM & NEW YORK is a good place walking distance to most things at night and of course price too also car parking can be a pain at some hotels

Well as said Aliante Station is the closest to the track and it is one of the "local" casinos. Prices are generally more reasonable at thes places. The Cannery is a nice place to, not the best neighborhood though. Then there is the whoile resort corridor/Strip deal. Rooms that time of year are generally less lexpensive but weekends are ALWAYS at a premium. I have onoy lived here for a year we used to stay on the strip when we raced. My wife has a thing for the Bellagio so ended up there frequently.

As for speed shops Figspeed is a great place. We also haev a SoCal Speedshop not far from the strip. Bring warm clothes cause it can get pretty cold around here that toime of year. Then again bring some light ones as well cause it can b hot too :) If you do make it out come say hello we will have a car in Hot Street and Bracket 1 as well. Both Barrracuda's one in my sig.

We stay at the Stratosphere, pretty nice accommodations, reasonable rates, about 15 mins from the track and only three blocks from Little Darlings.
