We destroyed our 8 inch in our Pinto 2.3L 5 speed. It is cheaper to go to a 9 inch rear than rebuild the 8 inch. Plus many more rear gears to choose from.
easy'r said then done allready have the m/w parts in it and have yet to break anything 1.30s 60ft. @ 3000lbs. dewco makes a girdle for it and currie has alum big bearing pinion support. plus its lighter then the 9 and fits the car as a bolt in..
