I have a 73 dart i am wanting to take out the 360 and put in a 440 do i have to change the k member.

Should go right in but it will drop the front some due to the lighter torsion bars for the small blk. Should launch great with the lighter bars though

depends on if you want to use factory mounts. you could use a motor and mid plate and it wouldnt matter. also there is a company that sells conversion kits i think that will allow you to use a small block k frame with custom mounts. maybe these guys http://www.engine-swaps.com/im pretty sure that the factory k frame from 67 up a-bodies was different for big and small blocks

stock mounts are different from a small block to a big block. you need a big block k member or a set of conversion mounts from schumacher

What is the best bet conversion kit or k member for the big block

Depending on the power, you can use the Schumacher mounts, they are about $150.00 for the set.. http://www.engine-swaps.com/ or you can go with a tubular K-Frame, mine is a Magnum Force, it has held up great! http://www.magnumforce.com/index2.htm

I love the tubular K Frame, w/ the rack and coil overs, I would not do it any other way.. One nice thing is, you can get rid of those stupid fenderwell headers! :smt078

those conversion kits dont hold up to too much power

I cut the moter mount to clear the exteral oil line

but you need to modify the mount to clear hi volume oilpump

There are several ways to do this. K-Member,Ears or modified mounts purchased from aftermarket company. Go to WWW.BIGBLOCKDART.COM and look into the tech section. They show you how to make mounting ears or proper part numbers for different applications. You can also go online to Mancini racing in Roseville/Frasier,Michigan
Keep in mind that you have to put headers on and you have to think about under chassis (TTI) or fenderwell headers. If fenderwell then you are limited to a 25" or 26" tire
