My 727 is not lasting as long as I would like and I think going GM would really help with this.I know very little of the GM tranny's so I would REALLY appreciate some help.
3900# car,driver 1,000hp800 tq 3.73 gear,29.5x10.5 slick with tubes running 1/4 mile at 150mph goal.My budget is 4k$ +/- 1k$

Reid Super 400 case with Mopar bell housing bolted on.. makes a nice clean installation. You can add more power later..... Not worry about the transmission bell & case

Dont even need an aftermarket TH400 case. Just cut the bell off a factory one and have someone install/bolt on a Chrysler bell. You could deffinitly buy a trans like this to handle 1,000hp for $4,000

Are the stock in/out shafts that bad after 1k hp without a transbrake?I am using the stock shafts with no signs of twist or anything in my 727.

No holes in the front of a 727 input and there is no planetary shaft. T400 output is strong enough

Might be able to get something with a converter for close to $4,000. I'd think a little closer to the $5,000 mark for a trans and a converter.

I just found a TH400 that is built for 1500hp cars that weigh above 3,200lbs. It is $3,100. I'm not sure what the increased cost would be to put a Chrysler bell on it.
