My 02 Camaro stops pulling on Dyno at 66-6700 made around 490hp
And then nose dives at 7200 it's around 420hp
I have ls7 lifters motor all new less than 300 miles new tfs 235 tooley heads and cam single plane Vic and 4150 acc u fab , Brian tooley is thinking deff lifters needs short travel ???
I checked pushrod preload with him on phone there about .25 thousand preload
Using stock rocker arms

Any ideas ??? I don't mind buying lifters if it's worth a try
He said cam should deff make more power above 6700
251/266 623/596 lift cam

This is my first Ls motor it runs great !! But prefer it to be right

7.450 5/16 pushrod from tooley , stock rockers , kooks 2 inch headers with 4 inch y pipe and full 4 inch exhaust
Lifters have about .25 thousands preload I'm now thinking it needs maybe longer pushrod

I would look at pushrods. 3/8" and like you had mentioned, some more preload. If you think you want to change lifters, I would do that beofre getting the Pushrods, so you don't end up getting two sets back to back to make up for any difference in cup height.

Pushrods are Fine.... Tooley told you right.... The motor needs a set of Comp Short travels in it...

I know for a fact they have fixed this issue before in another one of his customers cars... the HP peak moved up 600 rpm and the graph smoothed out and looked like it should.

Listen to the man and it will work right.

Did Brian assemble the heads or you? What I mean to ask is, what installed height/seat pressure are on the springs.

I believe you mean .025 preload and not .25?

Yes 25 thousands preload BRIAN assembled heads
He is pretty sure that lifters will fix because the first of year he had a turbo car did
Exact thing as mine and lifters fixed I agree with BRIAN he is good guy just thought I would
Get some opinions

I have seen lifters help with heavy valve trains i.e. heavy rockers. Stock rockers and stock valves is very unusual.
