Motor is a tall deck 598 was a sunset motor has brodix 365 bb3xtra oval port heads, cam is .288/.308 @.050 .808/.791 lift 7/4 swap edelbrock sv632 intake should be around 14:1 comp

Still have to have a carb built for it thought about trying my 1090 davinci that was built for my smaller motor. If I decide not to dyno it and just put it in the car.

Im in the process of doing final assembly on my 598 build.

I was keen to see what yours made.

I'm going to put 2 kits on it hopping my 3000lb car can get that 4sec time slip

I was interested in this build because I was gonna build a 582 with the same heads.

My 598 is a little different.....


4.5" x 4.6" bore
RFD dart 11* 2.52 x 1.82 Ti valves PAC 1258 2.15 I/H
15.1:1 comp
T @ D rockers, Jesel .937 lifters
HRE sheetmetal manifold
55mm cam .945" I X .875 ex 285 300
Diamond 1.24 C/H pistons .043 .043 3mm 11lbs
Oliver 6.7 rods CA625 bolts


a have a few sets of carbs to try on the dyno so I can give Bob Book some data before I order.

hope to have it done in the next couple of months.
as time permits. :(

If it won't do that something is wrong....A good 598 will run in the 4's on one kit at 3000lbs
It should with one, my buddy's 3000 lb Vette runs 5.30 on one kit ... 496 ci

Like saying we hit hiroshima with a m80.
You should be 1400ish with that if combo is correct.those are the best 4.840 platform out there.

I would be disappointed if it not make 1380 :)we did a 14 deg rolled to 12 in like 1996 with wilson manifold and twin doms.it ran 4.46 @2525 with 3speed lenco drive with converter.and it didn't have cam and valvespring tech of tday.:)

Brodix Alu block might not quite get there but who knows yet. Find out in a few months.

I tell people its gonna make 1200+. ;)

the one we did was a donovon.we didn't have q fuel then either.1300 is very doable with conv heads.and they do not have 2.520 valve.

It'll be on Q16.

I just like to quote conservative so I don't disappoint myself and others. ;)


anyway, finished my cup of coffee and now back to the garage to do more ring gaps.
