Guys what do you think of this combo. 582 cubic inch, Dart 355 CNC heads, Super Victor, 1150 dominator, 748 gross lift 274 284 @50 110 lobe center 3500 stall in a 3500 pound car. My hopes are to kill the bottom end a little to help launch the car. Want to shift it around 6500 to 6700. Will this Work for me. I also have a 3000 stall I could run if a little tighter convertor would be better.

How much compression and what trans are you running?

oh, god,convertor is too small,shift points too low, and why the hell do you wanna kill the tourque??just build a smaller motor.

of the 2 converters the 3500 would be better though still much lower than where it should be for peak torqe of a 582.

Bobby, looking at your previous threads, sounds like the combo isn't built yet. If so, I'd suggest you rethink the stroker 582, super vic, dominator combo and consider building a 4" stroke 509, 522, 532 engine with Brodix's 3 Xtra oval port heads that can easily make your goal of 800HP with a manifold that will fit under your hood and either a 4150 carb or the SV1.

I don't see anyway possible for you to get the stall down to 3500 on an 8" core with a 582...but I'm no converter expert either.

How about the 10 inch3000 stall, what are you running and where does it stall. you have a big motor and a ten inch right

Not true...I have an Ultimate 8" that flashes to 6300-6500 rpm behind a 1056hp/811 ft/lbs N/A 582...lockup is in the 7 to 8 % range on the top end.
I'm talking blowing thru 3500.

I guess your reply wasn't all that clear then, but I already stated I've never heard of using an 8" at 3500 stall no matter what the combination.
