Have a 559BBF in a 2450lb car w/driver, 14.4:1 comp,30* timing, stage 2 ported SCJ heads, rons terminator 0-1/2 pump 39 nozzles, 5500 converter, 4.56 gear, powerglide, [email protected], [email protected]
and the car is running 6.25-6.35´s @102mph at 230ft altitude with very nice weather,
what numbers do you think it should be doing at the 1/8?
The mph is always between 102-103mph, but the 60ft(1.34-1.41s) and the 1/8(6.24-6.39s) are very inconsistent.
I was hoping it would be making 6s @1/8

Wow I wonder whats off , What tire size is it ? That combo should see high 5.60's to 5.70's . My buddy has a fox body 2850 lbs with a 466 and ported aluminum CJ heads , 14 to 1 ,.solid roller , power glide and hit 5.66 so far , My clunker is a 84 fox body 2760 lbs with a 472 ,flat tops,flat tappet solid cam and out of the box SCJ heads with a 950 gas carb and so far my best was a 6.12 foot braking with a C6 trans.

Tires are 32x14.5 R15
I must say that I have the rpm limiter at 6100 and shifting at 6000, I know I can go with more rpms but with the same rpm limiters I was doing almost the same numbers and with 200hp less.
Every pass when Im at WOT at the burn out the engine make two missfires, and then sometimes one missfire in the race, what do you think it could be?

And mph should be 125 to 130. I'd be looking at a fuel starvation issue. For reference, my Ranger makes similar power and has the same gear, stall and glide. It runs 5.80's @116 mph weighing 2900 lbs with me in it.

what are your launch, shift and max rpm´s?
I tried a smaller pill for more alcohol but it was getting colder(EGT) at full throttle.

I would experiment with the shift and hi RPM chips. Raise them about 400 RPM and see if it likes it.

Then try 2 degrees more timing if it is alcohol.

Then try 2 sizes larger on your return pill.

A leakage test on all 8 cylinders will tell you if you need internal maintenance. Should be less than 20 percent.

NGK #9 plugs work well for alcohol.

Try these each one at a time and go the direction your MPH tells you to go.

Converter stall speed should flash 6000 and shift RPM should fall back 800-1000 RPM. ( A Go Pro camera pointed at your gauges might give you some valuable info.

The engine has 14 passes since freshen up, when dynoed they tried 30°timing and made 801hp then 32°timing and made 800hp.
The weekend we tried a larger pill, 4 sizes, but increased the 60ft and 1/8 times
At the track after shifting, the engine only goes down about 150rpm, I havent tried the gopro camera but I have the UDX Racepak Replay so I can watch the gauges after every pass.
I was planning on doing the leakage test on the cylinders this week but didnt have time, will do next week.
The sparkplugs are NGK #9 with a 35°gap

at 6100rpm,
the launch rpm is at 4500 and immediately after that(between 1/2 a second and one second) the car is already at 6000rpm so it shifts to 2nd and only goes back to 5850,and then agai quickly at 6100.
so practically all the 1/8 the car is running against the rpm limiter.
