Since the slug sits .120" in the hole at TDC and with a flat top and a 52cc head I only get 9.6:1. I want to get to 11:1 so if I go .010" on the deck how far can I go on the heads before the I run into issues with the front timing cover holes not lining up or having too much slack in the timing changes?

I know if I get custom pistons with a raised cp height I can get close to a zero deck height but trying to do this build on a budget.

Thanks.

You will run into issue with bolt hole alignment which is not a huge problem, but as you decrease the overall distance from crank to camshafts you create alot of slop in main timing chains which forces the tensioners to over-extend. It is not a good idea to do what you are asking about. Order a set of custom pistons!

Thanks Craig. I figured that was going to be the response. Pay more upfront and it'll be cheaper in the long run I guess. 1.32 cp height would give me 11:1 right?
