i found a good deal on a carbon hood scoop today so i went with that.

Seen a few cowl hoods with a slot cut right to the carb. Anybidy done it that way ?

the one i picked up was is very similar and i'll have a flat hood to go with it.

That scoop bolts to an air pan, doesn't it?
I'm looking for one to bolt to a stock flat hood.

a scoop that is molded to the hood is pretty useless with out being sealed to the carb/TB.

My air pan is molded to the scoop. It must be sealed, or it is just a bump on the hood. My scoop bolts to the carb.

My plan was to bolt an Allstar air pan to my 4150 TB, and seal it to a stock flat hood. And cut the hood for the scoop and bolt it on.
I have a VFN 5" WS6 extended hood on there now, but it's holding in heat. Car runs almost .2 slower with the VFN hood vs the stock flat hood.
