My car is an 83 Cutlass 10.5x28 car. Has a std bore 454 Eagle crank and H beams, TRW 12.5:1s, GM 69 model rectangle port aluminum heads (cast iron would be equal if not better) Crower .724 .719 roller, Victor intake, 1050 dominator, glide and nitrous converter at 3350lbs with an .082 nitrous jet in an out of the box big shot system has been a 5.84 progressing it out a good bit in 90* weather and about 85% humidity. Cant get much more budget than my engine. Ive got less than 4500 in the long block. A good GM steel crank, Eagle or Scat h beams and If I had it to do over would invest at least in a set of Probe pistons for about 500.00, an off the shelf cam will work fine as well. Im shooting for 5.60s this year with a .093 nitrous jet.

Very good times / perf. for the money you have for your combo, are the heads / ports as cast? Was any thing out of the norm done? Thx for the reply.

A 4.30 gear and the converter is a little too tight for my liking but its a 9.5 inch Pro Torque out of Riceville TN that goes about 3000 Im gonna have it loosened to about 38-4000 and the head ports have been cleaned up a little nothing exotic as these heads feature 295 cc runners compared to the 325 of the cast iron head which supposedly gives a little more velocity but the chambers and exhaust have been worked a little bit plus they have 11/32 stem valves instead of 3/8.

our track is at sea level but the avg. DA is around 800 ft. it seems on an avg cool day. heads have had minor cleanup, stock valves still, 2.19's. if you want to know any more details just let me know.

heres a vid, last pass is on the bottle, rest n/a.

What wheel HP does that thing make on NOS? Was that long dyno pull with or without bottle?

n/a passes only just to get the carb in tune with the car. its on a mustang dyno. final it made about 480hp and 600 lbft to the tire. my baseline pull to my final pull we found 20rwhp though after tuning. it can be taken with a grain of salt though cars in drag trim on chassis dynos always do funky things to the numbers IMO. on the engine dyno with an 850cfm carb it made 625hp and 570lbft on a DTS on the 150 shot it made 830hp and on the 200 shot 880hp.
