X2, need more info.
To do most of these style intakes right, you are going to need to do more than just put the adapter on... You will need to mill out the plenum and fully port the intake to see big gains. Whats the full combo? What RPM? what's the app.? JHope this helps

I think he's talking about swapping intakes from a 4150 to a 4500 intake, not adding the adapter to a 4150.

Without a doubt go with the correct carb/intake combo. 4150/4150 - 4500/4500

Going from a 4500 to 4150 is like breathing thru a straw.

I think you'll notice a gain in HP and TQ.

Gotcha... You should pick up some. But if you have to port both I would stay with what you got and port it(correctly) mill the top, "Fully ported".
I personally dont switch from this style untill you have peack HP rpm and max rpm up in the 7100+ peak and 8000+ max. Seen them go faster with the right porting vs. just a 4500 on most 355-383ci.. Also what heads are on this thing? Valve size and such...I have also reverse adapt the 4500 intake to 4150 top aswell and have seen gains, just depends on whatcha got.

I'm pretty sure it has the Dart Pro 1 215cc heads on it. He will be gone for a week, so maybe i can answer some of the questions for him.

I know they are different animals, but some of the BB Mopar single plane intakes actually flow better and make more power w/ a 4150 flange and a 4500 adapter. I'm referring to the Indy 440-2 and 440-3 manifolds.
I know you have a chevy, but just some food for thought.

With that said, I'd still rather use a 4500 flange manifold instead of the tall and goofy looking adapter setup.
