I’m looking to build a 406 using a Dart SHP Pro block and aset of Brodix Dragon Slayer heads. They are 238cc runners from Weingartner Racing. They flow [email protected] It’s going in a 3rd gen Firebird #2950 w/o driver 28” tire 4.57 gear. Is this enough cubic inches for these heads or should I be looking to build a bigger inch motor?

Yeah cam and compression it right it will be perfect lol. I had a 245cc head on my 9:1 street turbo 400” deal. It was great although i only turned 7200 shifts in a 3750 lb car. But drove fine felt fine did what i needed to do

Banjo has the best running 3.75 stroke 23 sbc I've seen (regular shit). He's got a thread on here that covers the details with dyno sheets, weight, gear, converter, heads, cam etc etc.

If it’s drag race only I would go with my bigger 242cc. On my personal 355 12to 1 motor I run the 242cc. It made [email protected] I plan to drive it on the street. I have many examples if you are interested.

If I don’t spec you a cam go with jones. His cams work.

Eric did my first set of DS225 with SV2 back in 2015 and recently did the same package with the heads being 242.

Both of these are on a 388 (4.125x 3.625) with 13.5 cr.

You 1/8 mile racing? What tire? What compression and fuel ?Sbc with limited heads like enough gear just to cross finish line imo_Our old wore out 406 went 146 in 1/4 at 3150.And we geared it so it was 650 rpm above peak hp there.Seemed to give us best results of things we tried.

It seems where they peak on Dyno and where peak on track with forced air in carb at speed raises peak a little.I really like those heads for basic builds.

Any reason why you went with 3.625 instead of 3.750 stroke?

So 325cfm and a 406 is enough to make 800hp?
Every 800 hp 406 makes 325 cfm somewhere. There is no reason to stop there.Thats why I said post #10 get after it and 800 possible.I have no idea what my heads flow, don't care. But I know we can make 800 hp with those heads.im concerned with what throat size and valve needed not caught up on cfm.
