ok i have a 331 with a gt4785 turbo the car has a powerglide ,3.31 gears and a 28 inch tire ..i talked to a guy yesterday that recomended 4.10 said they helped his turbo car out a ton and these guys do alot of testing .run mostley 8th mile stuff .with the 3.31 gears the car would kinda stop pulling when i went into high but was not slipping at all .

Define stopped pulling. What was your mph difference 1/8 mile to 1/4? What rpm do you shift and trap at? 3.31's might be too tall, but 4.10's are super short gears. Ok if you're a half tracker, but I doubt you could take them out the backdoor.

just a quick test you could do. drop you tire down to a 26'' and see how much it helps you.

Whats your converter slip %?

Stops pulling in high.. i would look elswhere before gears...turbos love load and imop your gearing/tire is spot on

Whats your car run et/mph and what rpm? Any motor details?

we have a 600 ft track here and its been 5.50 at 117 on pump gas and 15lbs . the car just flat lines once i go into high gear ,i put the 4,10 in so if there to much ill look futher .it just doest keep pulling once i go into high gear
