have a mild 351 and c4 in a foxbody gt with an 8.8. looking for gearing options. this is strictly a drag car so i was thinking 4.56 since i figure itll put me at 6500 or so with a 27-28" tire in the 1/8 but someone suggested something a little higher like 4.30 or 4.10. dont know to much about the motor or trans since it came with the car already built so i just plan to run it till next year. i do know it has an rpm air gap intake, and world sr. heads.

Depends on the power your making with it. When I think of a mild 351w, I'm thinking in the 300-350hp range.
If your running the 1/8 only, and don't care about driving on the street, I'd be thinking more like 4.88 maybe 5.14 gear. If you were running in the 1/4 then the 4.56.
If you plan to run any nitrous, then the 4.56 would probably be good for the 1/8.

thanxs man yea i only plan to run 1/8 since that is just about the only tracks around here. and yes i also plan to spray but at most 150 but probably 100 shot. yea i think you and i are on the same page but what that guy said kinda threw me off so i wanted a second opinion since im new to this.

9.50s-.70s..134-136 mph. Still trying to sort things out, car is a bit inconsistent. 2825 with me (190) in it. 28in tire. The motor is 392 cid, 13-1 comp, afr 225s with a vic jr everything out of the box. I think there might be more in her but time will tell. c-4 w/ trans brake. I am running Yukon gears by the way w/ spool. 2 years no problems.

Slicks or drag radial? i got 410s in my 393w with drag radials. High 5s on gas with footbrake
