A good friend of mine is getting ready to start putting together a 383 chevy using a 87 and up roller block. He asked me if I knew how much lobe lift he could use and still retain the factory style lifters, dog bones, and hold down?

I honestly don't know (if it was a ford I could give him a answer) but I was hopeing someone on the bullet might have the answer. I am sure there is a limit of some kind with the factory dog bones? Thanks

I am at .600" lift with my combination. I also have spun it to 6800rpm with LS7 lifters. The dog bones only keep the lifters from turning. The spider only keeps the dog bones in place. So I don't knowthe maximum lift they will take.

theres alot of lt1 guys in the low .600s with stock lifters..ls1 guys are mid .600s,,

I know if you ask for replacement lifters for a lt1 you get ls7 lifters now so its probley the same for all 87 and up hyd roller blocks now.
