Anyone remember the thread about this? Someone was claiming a 347 is gonna make more power than a 351 in equal trim? Cant find it to save my ass. Someone add a link please- Thanks

I say yes! If it is a stock crank,rods and std weight piston in the 351. The larger mains and heavier rotating assembly alone will not offset the 4 extra cubic inches.The 347 will rev quicker and make more power.

or just get yourself a small main dart iron eagle to work with....itll help offset some of the heavier mass

could be mexican 302 -usually Windsor means 351.


how about rod ratio, which is better? there is a lot of side loading on a 347 too
The rod ratio is still better than a BBC so I would say its not really an issue.

Yes but once you make it a 347 you are now going .030 over. Or if you are running an aftermarket block you could do a 4.125 with a 3.25 stroke to make a 347..:)
