I am getting my 327 back together, motor is bored .030 over and I am using sealed power E251k rings and older TRW forged flat top pistons L2165f, I checked the ring gap on a couple cylinders with ring 1 inch down in the bore, the gap is .024 for the top ring, is that to much or will that be ok?

Its more than enough, that piston probably has the ring land down .220" to .250"+ from the deck, say its a 450hp N/A engine, the closer the ring is to the deck the larger the gap needs to be as it see's more heat, and the further down the ring is the tighter the gaps can be as they see a little less heat

I have been able to run .018" with not even a sign of an issue, so your fine at .024", set the second ring at .026"

What is the bore actually honed to? I would be a little worried that your block was honed too large if that's the out of the box ring gap.

Realistically it won't cost you a lot, but I would be setting them at .018", no looser.

Personaly would be least b it concerned by.016 on that style motor.. Then I runtotal seal in about everything I build rather its street,race,motorcycle or anything with a engine that they offer rings for.

I purchased a new set of feeler gauges today and now I am getting .018-.019 for the top gap, my old feeler gauges were junk, couldnt hardly read the size anymore. I have read many posts on the second ring gap, some say bigger, the same, smaller than the top gap, I will have to check my gap on the second rings, but which way is better?

An E251k is an oe replacement set. It will work fine nut not ideal for a performance engine. These would be a cheaper grey cast top and second ring.

box states moly top and cast second ring.

The moly is the face coating. The grey iron is the base material. It'll seal up and run just fine for a driver. Don't let it get into detonation, don't spray it, and don't overheat it.
