on my stock cube ls1 i have 317 heads on them with some mild cleaning of the intake runners by myself and was wondering what difference it would make if i put some 241s with about the same head work that i did on the others. seems it may make it spool quicker maybe? i figured i would have to run lower boost to keep the cylinder pressure down some. and the motor has head studs too

Arent 243s more equivalent to 317s, the 241s would be a step backwards??

Not sure I'd bother to be honest. Neither set are ported? What size valves in the 317's?

aint the 243's pretty much 317..but 317 have a bigger chamber

241/853 = 200cc intake port, 67.67cc chamber, 2.00" in. valve, 1.55" ex. valve
317 = 210cc intake port, 71.06cc chamber, 2.00" in. valve, 1.55" ex. valve
243/799 = 210cc intake port, 64.45cc chamber, 2.00" in. valve, 1.55" ex. valve

the only similarity to the 317 and 243/799 is the intake port (not sure on the exhaust port). The combustion chamber design on the 243/799 heads are much superior to the 317 heads. But if compression isn't an issue I would still use the 317 over a 241/853 head.

both sets are stock with stock valves other than the little cleaning of the intake runner i did. mainly wondering what the smaller comb chamber of the 241 would do vs the 317 but if the smaller intake runner of the 241 would hurt then its not worth it. just seeing if it would effect anything for the good
