I have a 3000lbs backhalf car with 29.5/10.5 tires on it I am happy with the traction and performance but the car is coming through the 1/4 mile at too high RPM. I am getting my converter tighten up, but they said that they might not be able to get it to where I need... Someone suggested to witch to a 28/10.5 tire to help? I thought this was wrong since the roll out would be less with the 28? Is there any truth to this and if so what other changes can I expect if I switch to a 28 inch tall tire? The car now has a 180 straight cut in the trans and some 389 in the rear end. BBC Car on Nitrous!

I know its different for every car and setup, but last year we switched from a 29.5x10.5 to a 28.0x12.0 and lost 2 tenths in the quarter, along with 3 mph. This was in a mid 9 sec car.
