Depends on which brand you buy honestly. Winchester is pretty much top of the line stuff in my opinion.

There are less expesnsive brands out there just can't think of any of them since I mainly use Remington and Winchester. :-D

You can probably get some ammo for 20 bucks a box and I am talking top quality stuff. 100 rounds I believe is what the .223 comes in per box.

29 minutes, my shift starts. Hope to get another drunk off the road before he hurts himself or someone else.

Should be a wild weekend being it is payday, and the weekend starts.

You find .223 for $20 per 100, lemme know. I'll max out my credit card buying it up.

Even steel-cased Wolf is going to be $220+ per 1000 rounds, plus shipping. I found a 100 round value pack of Federal (it's got the same specs as their American Eagle .223, but different packaging) at Wal-Mart for $39.99 the other day.

You can find deals online, but expect to pay at least $330 per thousand for anything brass-cased. I recently picked up some PRVI 75gr. match ammo for $9.95 per box of 20. The real good shit - Federal Gold Medal Match - will run you $23-$28 per box of 20.

Stay safe this weekend, Carl.

I've run into some really good deals on bulk .223 at gun shows. Just make sure and research what's out there for sale. Shotgun news is a good way to find out what's on the market at any given time

I've never shot any other 75gr stuff, but just yesterday plinking in the 25-yard indoor range it was grouping .25-.35 inches tighter than 55-grain Remington UMC, through a 16-inch 1:7" AR. So that's what, about 1.0-1.25 inches tighter at 100 yards (theoretical)?

Oh, and I love Ammo to Go. I usually buy my Federal HST through them, since Streichers is always out of the stuff I want.

I have been buying Brown Bear from ammo to go they are selling it for 224.95 per thousand but then I think the last I got was 18 bux for shipping which was still cheaper then ammo man plus you do not have to fax in your ID !! I ave ran 2k rounds of this in my Bushmaster pistol and my M&P 16" with no issues at all. I need to order some more 7.62x39 from ammo man since he is still the cheapest.

On a side note I have found some good mag's for cheap on 44mag.com they have D&H green top GI 30 round mags for 9.99 a pop and free shipping for orders over 200. I have had great luck with them as well.

55gr xm193 expect to spend roughly 42-47 cents per round

62gr xm855 or quality ss109 roughly 60-68 cents per round

there is some new brass cased stuff on the market, I believe it is Centurion, or similar, and is going for roughly 18-20 cents per round.

Prvi Part and PMC is general decent and fairly clean. You can probaly find some good buys on those brands.

anything in the 64gr and up catagory seems to be going for 75 cents to a dollar plus a round.

Funny, I ran thousands of rounds through 5 different AR's I owned and never had a single problem with it in any of them. I had: Bushy AK Shorty, Bushy V-Match 24", Bushy V-Match 16" and 2 Professional Ordnance Type 97 Carbon 15's.
